Choose Pure Cotton
In 2006, Maxim’s co-founders recognized that there were no US based companies offering Pure Cotton, Chlorine Free menstrual care products.
Having an extensive background in Menstrual and Personal Care products manufacturing, Maxim was aware that what looks like cotton in other products is not always 100% cotton. It is usually a blend of wood pulp and synthetics like rayon and viscose.
This market void inspired the Father-Daughter – Kenneth and Rebecca Alvandi – to launch the first line of Pure Cotton, Chlorine-Free Tampons and Pads!
Striving to Make a Difference
While product quality was the reason for Maxim’s founding, the true drive behind sustaining Maxim has been menstrual rights advocacy and giving back to those in need.
We are proud that we have been able to help our home State of New York become the most progressive in terms of Menstrual equity, assisting the outstanding leaders in NY’s State government on initiatives including:
- Mandating free Menstrual care essentials be available in schools, prisons and public spaces
- Eliminating the ‘Tampon Tax’
- Requiring all ingredients be printed on the packaging of all Menstrual care essentials
